01 Dec 2025

Lam Dong is expanding its high-quality coffee cultivation area, aiming for sustainable production and elevating the value of Vietnamese coffee in both domestic and international markets.
Why is Lam Dong chosen to develop high-quality coffee?
- Favorable natural conditions: With its mild climate, fertile basalt soil, and ideal altitude, Lam Dong is a perfect region for cultivating premium Arabica and Robusta coffee varieties.
- Vietnam’s largest coffee-growing region: The province currently has around 327,000 hectares of Arabica and Robusta coffee, accounting for over 45% of the country’s total coffee area.
- Impressive production volume: With an output exceeding 1 million tons in 2025, Lam Dong contributes about 50–51% of Vietnam’s total coffee production.
A major transformation: Expanding sustainable high-quality coffee
To enhance product value and meet both domestic and export demands, Lam Dong is now strongly promoting sustainable high-quality coffee production:
- Out of 327,000 hectares, nearly 119,000 hectares have earned international certifications such as VietGAP, 4C, UTZ, and more.
- The province has established 6 high-tech agricultural coffee zones with nearly 2,300 hectares.
- There are 67 production–consumption linkage chains, involving over 29,000 farming households, covering nearly 55,500 hectares of raw-material regions.
According to Nguyen Hoang Phuc – Deputy Director of Lam Dong Department of Agriculture & Environment, the province will continue supporting cooperatives and farmer groups to develop large-scale raw-material areas and attract investment in deep-processing factories to increase the value of coffee beans.
