History

Founded in 1996, BACONCO was a joint-venture with SCPA, a subsidiary of the French Group Potasse d’Alsace , a 100 year-old mining and fertilizer company, known worldwide for its famous Stork brand, representing Alsace province and being the symbol of prosperity and luck for farmers.

The fertilizer factory of BACONCO was built adjacent to another SCPA investment: BARIA SERECE, the deep-water seaport in Phu My town, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. The neighboring Phu My port enables BACONCO to have a very competitive logistic location which facilitates the importation and storage of raw material as well as the delivery of finished products by barges to customers. BACONCO and BARIA SERECE were the first companies to settle in this area, which is now the Phu My industrial zone, occupied by many companies including Dam Phu My, Posco, and Bluescope.

After ten years of intense marketing, innovation and development, BACONCO has become one of the leading and best recognized brands in the Vietnamese fertilizer market. 200,000t of NPK, specially adapted to soil and crop conditions, are manufactured and distributed, thus contributing to the development of dynamic and competitive Vietnamese agriculture. A strong network of more than 300 wholesalers distribute BACONCO’s products to more than 5 000 nationwide retailers, serving several million Vietnamese farmers. BACONCO is also developing exporting specific products to Asia and Africa.

In 2004 BACONCO began distributing crop protection products. This additional service offers the same policy of quality and innovation.
