NUTRITION FOR RICE-SHRIMP FARMING SYSTEMS WITH THE MICROBIAL RICE TOPDRESSING – PANICLE INITIATION DUO

Nutrition for rice-shrimp farming systems should match each growth stage to support roots, tillering, and panicle development in saline soils.

Nutrition for rice-shrimp farming systems should match specific field conditions

In September, many coastal provinces in the Mekong Delta begin preparing for the rice-shrimp crop. After a shrimp farming cycle, fields may still contain residual salts, potential soil acidity, and partially decomposed organic matter, which can affect root activity and nutrient uptake.

Therefore, alongside water and salinity control, choosing suitable nutrition for rice-shrimp farming systems at each growth stage can help rice maintain stable development from tillering through panicle formation.

Microbial Rice Topdressing supports the tillering stage

During the topdressing stage, farmers may consider NPK CON CÒ 18-9-5+8.4Ca+6S.

The formula provides 18% Nitrogen (N), 9% Phosphorus (P), 8.4% Calcium (Ca), and 6% Sulfur (S), contributing to nutrition for rice-shrimp farming systems during root, stem, and leaf development.

The product supports:

• Nitrogen (N) supports tillering and vegetative growth.
• Phosphorus (P) supports young root development and nutrient uptake.
• Calcium (Ca), together with beneficial microorganisms, supports root-zone conditions.
• Sulfur (S) contributes to metabolic activity and plant vigor.

Appropriate use of Microbial Rice Topdressing helps provide a stronger growth foundation before the panicle initiation stage.

Microbial Rice Panicle Initiation supports panicle development

At the panicle initiation stage, farmers may consider NPK CON CÒ LÚA VI SINH ĐÓN ĐÒNG 16-8-12+8.4Ca+5S.

The product provides 12% Potassium (K), 8.4% Calcium (Ca), and 5% Sulfur (S), helping complete nutrition for rice-shrimp farming systems during panicle development.

Its nutritional benefits include:

• Potassium (K) supports nutrient transport and accumulation, contributing to panicle development.
• Calcium (Ca) supports root-zone conditions and helps strengthen stems and leaf sheaths.
• Supports healthy flag leaves, creating favorable conditions for photosynthesis and panicle filling.
• Supports grain formation and grain filling.

Combining Microbial Rice Topdressing and Microbial Rice Panicle Initiation according to the appropriate growth stage can help farmers manage rice more effectively under the specific soil conditions of rice-shrimp farming systems.

Salinity management and water control in rice-shrimp farming

Alongside nutrition for rice-shrimp farming systems, salinity management should be monitored regularly before and after sowing.

Farmers should:

• Check water salinity and field conditions before sowing.
• When salinity falls below 2‰, consider flushing salts and preparing the field for sowing.
• Monitor root condition, plant vigor, and tillering.
• Adjust fertilizer rates according to rice variety, sowing density, soil fertility, and actual field conditions.

Combining salinity management with suitable nutrient supplementation can create more favorable conditions for stable crop development.

Nutritional support from tillering to panicle initiation

When planning nutrition for rice-shrimp farming systems, each growth stage requires a formula suited to the crop’s nutritional needs.

Microbial Rice Topdressing supports tillering, vegetative growth, and root development, while Microbial Rice Panicle Initiation focuses on nutrient supply during the panicle initiation stage, supporting flag leaves, young panicles, and grain formation.

Farmers should adjust fertilizer rates according to actual field conditions to improve nutrient use efficiency.

Conclusion

Nutrition for rice-shrimp farming systems should be adjusted according to each growth stage and actual soil and water conditions. The Microbial Rice Topdressing – Panicle Initiation duo can be considered to support rice from tillering through panicle development.
