[NEWS] THANH HOA PINEAPPLE HARVEST IN FULL SWING, CREATING MORE INCOME FOR LOCAL WORKERS

Thanh Hoa pineapple harvest is in full swing, creating seasonal jobs and income for workers across major pineapple-growing areas.

Thanh Hoa pineapple harvest enters peak season

In late May, the Thanh Hoa pineapple harvest becomes increasingly active across major growing areas, especially in Quang Trung Ward. From early morning, farmers and local workers begin cutting, sorting, packing, and transporting pineapples to collection points.

Beyond agricultural production, the Thanh Hoa pineapple season also creates more jobs and income for rural workers during the peak harvest period.

Pineapple porters work under intense heat

One of the most demanding jobs during the Thanh Hoa pineapple harvest is carrying pineapples from hillside fields to collection points.

Each basket can weigh around 50–70 kg. Pineapple porters often have to move across steep paths stretching from dozens to hundreds of meters under hot weather conditions.

According to local workers, payment is generally calculated by volume, at around VND 500,000–700,000 per tonne depending on distance and slope. During peak periods, some groups of pineapple porters can transport around 20–30 tonnes per day.

As a result, the Thanh Hoa pineapple season not only generates income from agricultural production but also provides additional seasonal employment for local communities.

Thanh Hoa pineapple-growing areas maintain high production

After collection, pineapples are purchased by traders and transported to northern provinces or processing facilities.

Quang Trung Ward currently has around 450 hectares of pineapple, with an average pineapple yield of approximately 50 tonnes per hectare.

Across the province, Thanh Hoa pineapple-growing areas cover around 4,000 hectares, with annual production estimated at 120,000–130,000 tonnes. This scale shows that pineapple remains an important crop in several local production areas.

Maintaining a stable pineapple yield also helps provide raw materials for fresh markets and processing activities.

Pineapple harvest creates more rural employment

The Thanh Hoa pineapple harvest involves not only fruit production but also a wide range of jobs, including cutting, sorting, packing, and transportation.

During peak season, rising labor demand provides additional employment for local workers, particularly in concentrated pineapple-growing areas.

The activity of the Thanh Hoa pineapple season shows how agricultural production can create livelihoods not only for farmers but also for workers involved in harvesting and distribution.

Thanh Hoa pineapple harvest contributes to local agricultural value

With its large cultivation area and production volume, the Thanh Hoa pineapple harvest is an important period for both farmers and workers in specialized growing areas.

From production and harvesting to transportation and processing, Thanh Hoa pineapple-growing areas support a broader local agricultural value chain while creating jobs during the peak harvest season.

Conclusion

The Thanh Hoa pineapple harvest brings significant agricultural output while creating additional employment for local workers. With around 4,000 hectares of pineapple across the province, the crop continues to play an important role in local production and rural livelihoods.
